Reliving the day
What were some of your favorite memories from your wedding day? We each got off the a great start by having breakfast with our bridal parties. Oh and we were so glad we decided to do a First Look with our bridal party and families!
What were some of the sweetest memories from your wedding day? Before the ceremonial dances of our reception, Jake and Katie snuck us away for our "real" first dance amongst the ferns.
What were some of the funniest memories from your wedding day? On the Dancefloor!!! A 100 person Mannequin Challenge and the Father of the Bride doing a split in the middle dance floor.
What is something that happened on your wedding day that you didn't expect? The Groom's eyes welling up when the doors opened and the Bride walked down the aisle... this is a big deal because he never cries.
Advice for future brides: Remember that this is the best day of your life...If you're too busy worrying about small details you will not have time to enjoy every second of those few precious hours. (Oh, and the look on your groom's face when he sees you for the first time is heavenly!)
Advice for future grooms: Enjoy the day, let your groomsmen take care all the little things. PS. Don't try to cook a three course breakfast for them the morning of the wedding Lucky Charms will suffice.
Thanks goes out to... ALL! We have so many people to thank that we could write a book of all their individual stories! But we would like to name our loving parents and our awesome bridal party! Our special day could not have happened without your support, love and sacrifice.
All the Details
Theme/Colors/Inspiration: Tuscan Garden Party. I spent a summer in Cortona, Tuscany, Italy when I was in high school and I fell in love with the relaxed natural beauty that becomes evident when you stop rushing through life. It's too clique to say, "Stop and smell the roses", but that is exactly what I learned to do. So for my wedding inspiration I took the colors of an herb garden under the night sky with twinkling porch lights and made it into my wedding. White, Green, Ivory, Lavender and Candle Light.
The Bride. White Lace. White Sequins. Silver & White Jewels. I love pure beauty with a hint of sparkle, and my dress, veil and hair piece showcased my personality perfectly. My dress was from Allure's Romance collection at Olga's Bridal. My veil and hair piece were made by a close family friend and costume designer and fabricator at CAST, Ann Stick. After seeing my dress, she took me shopping for jewels and a few weeks later I had a completely hand-made custom bridal veil and hair piece. For my shoes I choose a Gianni Bini Jeweled Heel that was sparkly and beautiful!
The Groom. I wore the Men's Warehouse Gray Satin BLACK Tuxedo by Vera Wang with a white vest and white tie to compliment the pure white of my bride's dress and flowers.
The Bridesmaids. My junior bridesmaid, eight bridesmaids and maid of honor represent so many years of my life and the promise of a wonderful and fun filled future! I chose them because they each have a special place in my heart and has had significant influence in who I am today. After spending the night together they put on their Lavender Ice Jasmine floor length dresses that completed my Tuscan garden look. My maid of honor, Kayla, was given a gold, pearl and jeweled necklace so she could well deservedly stand out as the honored woman she was.
The Groomsmen. Each of my eight groomsmen were my best friend at some point in my life, some from college, some high school, one from all the way back to the nursery. All of whom remain even today, my closest friends. The closest of them all always has been and continues to be my best man, whom I'm lucky enough to call my brother. They wore Gray Satin BLACK Tuxedos by Vera Wang with a lavender tie to compliment the bridesmaids' dresses and flowers.
The Music. For the ceremony, we were fortunate enough to have the harpist that played at Ariel's baby dedication to play during the processional and we exited to Sky Full of Stars. Our first dance was to At Last by Etta James, the father daughter dance was to Find Your Wings and the mother son dance was to Have I Told You Later.
The Ceremony. Special. Emotional. Personal. Perfect.
The Reception. Fun! Dance Off with the Bride! Family! Party! Friends! Mannequin Challenge! Sky Lanterns! Skip the cake and get Krispy Kreme!
Who made this day happen?
Planner's Name: Diane Davis
Why did you choose this planner?
Diane is a friend that works as the for the church we were married at, so she help us with all our rehearsal and ceremony needs.
Make Up Artist's Name: Amanda Tramel
Why did you choose this make up artist?
She should be a make up artist! Amanda is a close friend that graciously accepted the stressful task of doing the bride's make up...and she nailed it! In addition to the bride, on the morning of the wedding she also helped with many of the bridesmaids' hair and make up. She also became the bride's personal assistant through out the day and helped her remain calm till the end!
Florist's Name: Dorelle Raphael-Fishkin with Brides n' Blooms, http://bridesnblooms.com/
Why did you choose this florist?
Dorelle took the vision for the wedding theme and made it into reality! She immediately understood and ran with the ideas until she was so excited with work on this project that we couldn't say no, and we have no regrets. She delivered the dream without exceeding out tight floral budget! We cannot be more grateful for her fun, creative and happy personality and way of working.
Caterer's Name: Kelly Peightel
Why did you choose this caterer?
She is a family friend that offered herself (and her daughter haha) up to help us accomplish the great task of feeding 220 people! Kelly, her daughter and their friend toiled away in the kitchen to create a wonderful pasta and salad meal that we all enjoyed so much!
DJ/Band's Name: Will Jackson
Why did you choose this DJ/band?
Will was referred to us by Jake English and that was enough for us! We communicated via email all summer and DID HE DELIVER!? WOW! What fun!!! We know it was our wedding...so we are biased, but that was the best wedding DJ we have ever heard! Will was the life of the party and knew how to perfectly mesh the music with our guests. He kept the dance floor packed all night!
Reception Rental Company: Coast to Coast Event Rentals, http://coasttocoasteventrentals.com/
I was referred to them and for good reason. They gave me everything I needed under my budget and the guys that came set up my tent, dance floor, tables, chairs, linens and catering supplies were timely, fun and hard working.
Wesley & Ariel, thank you so much for allowing us to be your photographers. We loved capturing your wedding day and all the sweet, fun moments you shared with family and friends. We wish you the best!
