Ian & Mary had a small wedding with just their family members in Ellicott City, Maryland. This little town was full of so much history, great little cafes & shop and some beautiful spots for wedding portraits! We started off with their first look at the Howard County Conservancy. It was such a sweet moment between Ian & Mary. We were lucky to have plenty of time with them before the ceremony to get some awesome portraits and use up as much of the Con

The ceremony was held at the Howard County Historical Society museum, which was beautiful on the outside (as you can see in the portraits above) and filled with great historical knick-knacks (as you'll see below).

The reception was a small sit down dinner and was filled with great moments between Ian & Mary and their families. But their exit was certainly a highlight of the day.
Ian's siblings passed out post it notes to the guests during dinner (without Ian & Mary knowing) and had them write little pieces of advice, funny quotes, etc. They then decorated Ian & Mary's car with them and a bunch of balloons, which they put anywhere they could.

I love the way their nephew is looking at them. He is so excited about what is happening!

Yes, that is Mary pulling a balloon out from above the wheel. There were balloons everywhere. Look closely above and you can see the inside of the car is filled with balloons.

And off they went!
Ian & Mary, thank you so much for choosing us as your wedding photographers. It was an honor and we hope to see you again soon!

Favorite memories of the day:
Ian - Enjoying great food and conversations with our family and friends at the reception.
Mary - Walking down the aisle with my mom and realizing the day I had dreamed about forever was finally coming true.
Sweetest memory of the day: Seeing each other for the first time while taking the pre-ceremony pictures. Everything felt so real and it was really exciting!
Funniest memory of the day: When the bride's nephew asked why the groom's father didn't have any hair on the top of his head. The mind of a 4 year old :)
Advice for future brides: Don't sweat the small stuff! There will be minor hiccups along the road, but at the end of the day, you will get married.
Oh, and you can have your cake and eat it too!
Advice for future grooms: Wear awesome shoes :)
Thanks goes out to: Our wonderful family and friends who helped us plan and enjoy our wedding. We wouldn't have done it without you!
Extra comments: Jake and Katie, you two are seriously the best people and photographers ever. We couldn't have imagined feeling so comfortable around people we had just met, but you guys were awesome. You were both working to create beautiful moments rather than just clicking away behind a camera and the results have been stunning. We can't thank you enough for capturing the best day of our lives. Hopefully our paths will cross again someday :)
