What makes weddings so great are the people that come together to celebrate two people in love. Well, Wesley was one of those people as a groomsman in Stephen & Brittany's wedding back in 2014 and we are so happy to have him and Ariel as one of our couples now! Gosh we love these two. They are incredibly kind and SUPER fun. We had an awesome time during their engagement shoot and cannot wait for their wedding in November.

A little about their story, according to Ariel...

Wesley and I were in youth group together when we were younger, but it wasn’t until I moved to California and then back again two years later that we were officially introduced.  In February of 2009 at a church picnic a pastor at our old church took pity on the lonely freshman girl with her younger brother glued to her hip, so he introduced us to the most outgoing person around.  I remember it like it was yesterday, Wesley was wearing a dirty white V-neck shirt and old jeans rolled up to his knees.  We played volleyball together all day, but it wasn’t until four years later when I came back to Tampa after a semester in college, a game of Scattergories and a group of little dancers for him to notice.  On March 6th, 2013 he made it official.  We went from new friends to best friends and then I realized I had fallen in love.  On December 12th I got a call too early in the morning and Wesley’s voice said to get ready because we were going to watch the sunrise on St. Augustine Beach.  I jumped out of bed changed into the first thing I saw, ran outside and saw him standing there.  We drove 3 hours to St. Augustine were he bought me coffee and not-so-patiently waited for the sun to peak over the horizon.  When we started walking, when I heard the buzz of a text, when he turned to face me with terrified eyes…I knew.  All I remember is being handed a ring, collapsing and saying yes.  I was brought back to reality with distant screams, people running and his arms around me.  Wesley’s best friend, Steven and his wife Brittney, were hiding to take pictures and share that moment with us.  If they weren’t there, I wouldn’t have remembered the best moment of my life.  Even though my hands didn’t stop shaking for at least an hour and my stomach went nuts, I discovered what it truly meant to live on Cloud Nine while we spent a magical day together exploring St. Augustine.  Since then we have been working together to plan the best day of lives.  Our youth pastor will be marrying us on November 12th, 2016 at Tampa Covenant Church, exactly 11 months after Wesley proposed.

A little about their story, according to Wesley...

We met in high school at a church picnic. Her family had just moved back from California. She was a shy freshman, I was a popular outgoing senior. So naturally the pastor introduced us in hopes that i would  show her around...well that didn't happen. I was much too cool for her and she wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. That basically sums up the level of interaction that she and iI had over the next four years. She eventually graduated and went off to college. But something changed when she came home for Christmas break. It was a Tuesday night at the church when someone informed me that some girl was holding a ballet class in the same room in which was supposed to have band rehearsal that night. I distinctly remember nearly tripping and falling flat on my face when i saw her for the first time in over a year. She was wearing a white sundress, her hair was down and she was surrounded by dozens of miniature ballerinas. I swear she was glowing as she starred at me smiling and for those few seconds time stopped. A week or so later, a friend invited me to a party which just so happened to be hosted by Ariel's parents. At one point we were forced to partner up for a game i had never played before called Scattegories. We were awful. Probably since neither of us were very interested in the game or anything else that was going on around us. It was then that i realized, this girl is special. I spent the next four nights talking in her living room until three in the morning. After getting to know Ariel and her family, i asked her father if i could date his daughter. I explained to him that i would be entering into this relationship with the intention of marrying her. In December, after nearly three years of dating, I asked her to be my wife at sunrise on St Augustine Beach. Since then i have been counting down the days until she becomes my wife. On November 12th 2016, the wait will finally be over. And as we recite our vows at Tampa Covenant Church, the same church where Ariel was dedicated as baby, we will officially start our new life together as husband and wife.
