MAtthew & Megan • Tampa Club Wedding • Tampa, Florida

February 18, 2017

Matthew & Megan said "I do" back in February at The Tampa Club. With beautiful views of Downtown Tampa, this served as a great backdrop for their wedding day.

"This venue gave us the perfect place for a small ceremony while still having the elegance of a large one. We loved how we could see different places in Tampa that were landmarks in our relationship" - M&M

"Simple black suits were all we wanted. The socks were the special touch. Matt chose Marvel superheroes to throw back to our first date."

"Matt has known these men for most of his life. They would do anything for him. All suits were from Mens Warehouse. The boys wanted to look as close as they could to Johnny Cash, so they liked the black suits we picked. Matthew personalized each of their gifts based on interests and tied it all together with the Marvel socks."
"My dress was by Sophia Tolli. I wanted a very romantic dress with beading and lace. I got just that with this dress the silver lave was the perfect touch and my favorite part of the dress. My sister, mom, and grandmother altered my dress which was really special. I went very simple with the shoes and jewelry. I chose to wear sandals for comfort (best choice ever). I wore simple hoops and a headpiece for the reception. I brought some special pieces with me. Matt and his parents gave me a necklace that belonged to his aunt which I pinned in my dress. I also carried a handkerchief with lace that was hand tacked by my great grandmother. Around my bouquet, I carried a Rosary that belonged to my grandmother from the Vatican."
"These ladies have seen me through the worst and now the very best relationships. Who better to stand beside me? Their dresses were by Haley Paige. I loved the back detail on these dresses. I gave the girls hangers for them as well as makeup goodie bags and gold necklaces engraved with their initials."
"Our ceremony was pretty traditional. It blended our two faiths which was nice for us and our families. We did not share vows we wrote at our wedding, but we did write our own vows and they were given with our gifts."
What were some of your favorite memories from your wedding day?

Seeing each other. The anticipation going into the moments of seeing each other really made it worth it.

"We included a lot of traditional wedding events in our reception. It was very important for us for everyone to have fun and enjoy the views that The Tampa Club had to offer."

What were some of the sweetest memories from your wedding day?

Taking some time out of our reception to hang out with each other. Sharing our gifts with each other was also a really nice way to close out the whole day.

What were some of the funniest memories from your wedding day?

Our double take first kiss. Meg's uncle and Matt's brother dancing with everyone at the reception, including vendors, staff, and club guests.

What is something that happened on your wedding day that you didn't expect?

We didn't expect it to go so smoothly. Both of us were ready for something to go wrong. Nothing ever did.

Is there anything you wish you knew?

How fast it would go. We wish we could do it all again.

Advice for future brides:

There is a lot of stress that surrounds you on that day. On your way down the aisle, take a deep breath and take it all in. Be very present in those moments.

Advice for future grooms:

Be supportive, experience as much as you can with your bride. Most of all, enjoy the day.
