Daniel & Rebecca • Private Residence Engagement Photos • Clearwater, Florida

Fresh air + open fields + these two = a dream engagement session. We couldn't have asked for a better evening to capture Daniel & Rebecca's engagement pictures!

When & how did you meet?

We met on the first day of 9th grade in first period Spanish class (my assigned seat was right behind him). It wasn’t until a year later when we realized we kinda sorta might like each other as more than just friends (and we weren’t technically allowed to “date” until we turned 16). We dated for about 2 years and then spent a couple of years apart doing our own thing and focusing on school. We reconnected during our sophomore year of college after I saw his mom’s post that said he would be home from school for the weekend. I spontaneously texted him to see if he would want to come up to Tally as my date for a function. He didn’t end up coming, but we have talked every single day since!

Rebecca as explained by Daniel

Rebecca is the embodiment of love. She is the most beautiful person I have ever met, inside and out. She is selfless, always thinking of others before herself. No matter how busy she is, she always makes time for others, to the point of making it seem effortless. Rebecca brings the best out of me and I cannot thank her enough for that. Above all Rebecca is very strong in her faith, as a result radiating happiness and love in our daily lives. Rebecca is the love of my life and I cannot wait to spend all my days with her. I cannot wait to have the honor of being her husband and father to her children.

Daniel as explained by Rebecca.

Daniel has the BIGGEST heart and the purest intentions. He is compassionate, thoughtful, loyal, and patient. He has a passion for helping others and is quick to put someone else’s needs before his own. He challenges me to look beyond self-doubt and to pursue things that make me happy. Daniel is not someone who would ever try to change who I am. Instead, he has unknowingly opened my eyes to the ways that I can change and the ways I want to change, by his acceptance of my imperfections and his willingness to forgive. He teaches me about sports, takes me on adventures, laughs with me, prays with me, and reminds me to slow down and enjoy life one day at a time. Daniel is my best friend and I cannot wait to love and honor him always, as his wife!

When and where is your wedding?

We’re getting married on April 21, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dunedin, Florida. Having our wedding there was a given - Daniel’s family has been part of the OLL community for over 20 years, two of his older sisters were married there, my parents were married there 31 years ago, and my dad even went to elementary school there!

Charlie & Kettie • Tampa Yacht Club Wedding • Tampa, Florida

Everything was picture-perfect for Charlie and Kettie's wedding and we are still talking about this special day. The Tampa Yacht Club offered a beautiful setting for these two to celebrate their marriage with their family and friends. Enjoy these pictures!

Kettie: "Don't take the wedding too seriously!  Maybe it was just because it was our second wedding ceremony, but I decided early on to not let the details of the wedding stress me out.  I let my bridesmaids make their own decisions on shoes, hair, make up, even their dress styles.  Our groomsmen picked their own suits, and shoes.  It was more important to me that my friends were coming to have an amazing time and celebrate with us all weekend than for everyone to fall in line with decisions that I was making for them.  I think it made the weekend so much more enjoyable and laid back for everyone!
Our ceremony was officiated by our close friend, Dr. Ed Gomes, who has known Charlie and his family for almost over 15 years.  He has been so special to us for a very long time.  At our first wedding ceremony, we used the traditional vows.  At this ceremony, we decided to write our own as the affirmation of the vows we gave months before.
We got engaged right down the bay shore on the water and have spent a lot of time in Tampa.  It's a very special place to us!
It was also important to us that we took communion together again, as we had done in our first wedding ceremony.

We decided to make our reception less traditional and more of a big laid-back party for our friends and family.  We had fun food stations and a great bar.  Instead of traditional toasts, our friends ended up making it more of an open mic session, that was so special and funny.

Thanks goes out to...
First and foremost our families, especially Kettie's, who were 100% on board with us deciding to get married 8 months earlier than expected, even when deposits had already been paid and plans had been made for the big event.  Both of our families supported our decisions and trusted that we were following the right path for our life together.
Also, our best friends, who made our entire weekend the most fun and memorable time of our life!  We are beyond blessed to call these people our best friends!

Miguel & Danielle • Channelside Engagement Photos • Downtown Tampa, Florida

We met up with Miguel & Danielle and their sweet pup Romey for their engagement session a few weeks ago. The weather was beautiful and the light was even more beautiful. Add in a good looking couple and an adorable dog, you have the perfect conditions for a great session. Enjoy!

When & how did you meet?

We meet in 2007 in Miami during graduate school and ended up being physical exam lab partners. We spent grueling long hours studying physiology and pharmacology which eventually led into falling for each other.  We both finally found our "home" in Tampa, FL after spending some time doing long distance in various cities.

When & how did you get engaged?

I said "yes" to Miguel at my Grandparents waterfront home in Indian Harbour Beach, FL during sunset the day before New Years Eve! :)  My family was present as the hidden papparazi. Fortunately, they also had my step dad on Facetime while he was deployed in Afghanastan so he could take part in the moment. Miguel arranged to have the rest of our friends and family there as a surprise engagement party after the proposal.  His niece was so cute, she said "What if Danielle says no? Will there still be a party?" I was so shocked that he was able to plan something without me knowing!

When and where is your wedding?

We are getting married at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Longboat Key and celebrating our reception at Zota Beach Resort after on St Patricks Day! March 17th will always be a fun anniversary!

Miguel as explained by Danielle.

Miguel is the most humble handsome human being on the planet! He has a way of captivating others heart with his kindness and gentle gestures. I adore his dedication to work, family and culture. My heart and soul lives in that tall mans body and can not wait to spend forever with him! :)

Danielle as explained by Miguel.

Danielle is a caring, warm-hearted and passionate lady and dog mom. She loves to travel, sleep and is a wonderful cook!

Jared & Melissa • Isla del Sol Wedding • St. Petersburg, Florida

Jared and Melissa selected the tropical venue of Isla del Sol to begin their married lives. We can’t get over the beauty and the serenity of this location — the breeze through the palms, the sparkling Gulf of Mexico, and the warm temperature made this a uniquely Floridian experience.

Enjoy these pictures from their special day!

What were some of your favorite memories from your wedding day?

One of my favorite moments of the day was when Jared and I were holding hands walking from the first look to our ceremony. With all the craziness and nerves about being in front of so many people, it was wonderfully normal (even in a wedding dress) to be walking hand-in-hand with my best friend.

What were some of your favorite memories from your wedding day?

When Melissa made her way to the front of the ceremony hall, and we stood together, holding each other's confident gaze. That gaze, that look. My insecurities were at once exposed and simultaneously melted away. I will never forget the bold look in her eyes... a look I see now every day.

Advice for future grooms:

Let your you-may-kiss-the-bride kiss, be your first kiss. You and your bride will cherish that forever. The purity and exclusivity of such intimacy is a deep joy.
Remember the gospel. Remember the love of God eternally poured out on you in the person and work of Christ. Be humbled. Be strengthened. Love and forgive your bride as zealously, as recklessly as Christ determined to love and forgive His church.

Advice for future brides:

Focus on your man. There are so many people you love and beautiful decorations to gawk at, but keep your eyes on him more than any of these. Be kind and thankful to all who came for sure. The way you share your joy with them makes the celebration what it is. But don't do so without him. Don't get lost in it all. Remember the God who brought you together, and enjoy your new husband!

We absolutely loved my father's speech and my parent's anniversary dance that followed. It was awesome to see them celebrate their marriage with all that God has done in their relationship.

Brett & Amy • Station House Wedding • St. Pete, Florida

Brett & Amy were married at a super cool venue in St. Petersburg called Station House. We LOVE shooting at this venue not only because of the awesome aesthetic and atmosphere, but because it allows our couples to have their ceremony and reception in the same location. This is a HUGE time saver and allows for more time for authentic moments, portraits and taking our time to creating real images.

They started things off getting ready with their wedding party and families at yet another super cool spot in St. Pete - Avalon Hotel. This place is so unique and was perfectly fitting for Brett & Amy's personalities.

"I loved having the morning with my girls. My bridemaids are my closets friends. I chose them because they are all fun-loving, kind people who are drama free!
He wore a tux because I asked him to, ha. He looks so good in a tux! All the groomsmen had individualized cuff links. Brett's cufflinks were a reference to one of his favorite professional wrestlers, Razor Ramon."
"Station House itself was a huge source of inspiration for me. It provided beautiful character we needed to help set the tone of our wedding. We chose Station House for both our ceremony and reception because they offered different spaces where we could have both and not have our guests have to move to a different location."
"I bought my dress at the Dressing Room in St. Pete. It wasn't what I had envisioned wearing at all -- but once I put it on I knew it was the one!"

Brett took great care to get a gift that was perfect for each one of his groomsmen. We love how much thought was put into these gifts!

Our ceremony was unique because our best friend Nick agreed to officiate it. He was able to speak to our love like no other because he's been there since the beginning. We wrote our own vows and didn't know what the other had written until we heard it at the ceremony.

Brett & Amy channeling their inner Queen B.

"Our reception was fun and traditional. People had a good time and were always dancing. Our first dance was to Tony Bennett's "The Way You Look Tonight." We did a last dance alone on the roof top to Prince's "Diamonds and Pearls." I surprised one of my father's with our first dance song, Sweet Melissa. I'm named after that song (middle name) and my father forgot that I knew that."

What were some of your favorite memories from your wedding day?

Amy: I loved having the morning with my girls. I loved all the private moments I had with Brett -- from our little whispers to each other at the altar to our last dance together on the roof.
Brett: I loved getting ready with my groomsman. Seeing Amy for the first time in her gown walk down the aisle was amazing. Taking photos with my closest family members, especially my grandmother.

What is something that happened on your wedding day that you didn't expect?

I didn't expect the hotel shuttle to take 45 minutes to arrive to take us less than a mile away to the venue, especially after I had spoken to the hotel on 4 separate occasions about whether the shuttle would be available and able to take us to the venue in a timely fashion! The groom and his groomsmen ended up taking Uber!

Advice for future brides & grooms:

Trust your gut. Try to find common ground in all things -- even things you disagree on.

Anything else? Feel free to share anything you'd like about your wedding day here...

It's not going to be perfect, and at the end of it all you won't care.

Thanks goes out to...

Our officiant Nick. He's not only our best friend, but was kind enough to become a minister to be the one who made our love official. Our amazing bridal party, groomsmen, and their significant! They were all amazingly supportive and there for every step of the way. Also -- our dear friends Kim and Matt Apthorp, the parents of our flower girl Sidney Apthorp. They singlehandedly put out so many fires and fixed so many issues, often before I realized it was a problem.
